The Large Group Beginner Steel Drum (Steel Pan) Workshop/Interactive assembly is a great way to bring the experience of learning how to play the pan in a 45 minute workshop/Interactive Assembly . Participants will learn the basics of playing a full song on the steel pan while learning the history of this great instrument born in Trinidad. Grades K-8 (also adults in community groups and event settings) Since 1999 we have taught 168.000 students to play steel pan through our large group workshop tour and our Artist In Residence Programs at over 400 schools, community groups and events.

Rockcreek provides the instruments, equip, sound system and teaching. School only provides a chair for each student Our Outreach tour brings a 2 1/2 hour block of workshops.,,,, Three back to back 45 minute workshops or two one hour workshops.

Smaller Setup (can be in a large room, cafeteria, gym or outdoors) 30 drums with two students per drum

$800 Total cost including travel for a 2 1/2 hour block. 3 back to back Forty Five Minute Workshops for groups of up to 60 per workshop . A total of up to 180 participating students at $4.44 per student

Larger Setup ( can be in cafateria, gym or outdoor space ) 50 drums with two students per drum

$1,200 Total cost including travel for a 2 1/2 hour block. 3 Forty Five Minute Workshops for groups of up to 100 students per workshop (two students per drum). A total of up to 300 participating students at $4 per participating student.
