This Fall 2025 and Winter/ Spring 2026 Rockcreek Steel Drums is bringing its Large Group Beginner Steel Pan Workshop Tour to all of MD and the East Coast USA
The focus of this tour is elementary schools grades 2-6 teaching two classes per workshop.
Rockcreek brings all the instruments, equip and PA.
The school provides 52 chairs. This is a large group workshop requiring the gym or a large workshop room/cafateria

Over the past 20 years Rockcreek Steel Drums has visited over 400 schools, libraries and community groups, festivals and venues with our Steel Pan Workshops, Artist In Residences and performances. As of May 2025 163,000 people have played in The Rockcreek Steel Band.
The large group Beginner Steel Pan Workshop tour stop is a one visit two hour block . The time can be used for either three back to back 45 minute workshops or four 30 minute workshops with time between to change classes. The cost in Maryland is $1,200 including travel and setup. Rockcreek brings 52 full sized steel pans. Workshop size is two classes…. for classes that have more than 26 students we can double up the extra students to still have two classes participate in each workshop.
A full day visit option with 5 forty five minute workshops or 7 half hour workshops is $1,800 including travel in Maryland.
In this workshop students will learn the basics of playing The Steel Pan Instrument of Trinidad and Tobago. We will learn to play a full song on the steel pan as a band. No music experience required.
