The Rockcreek Steel Drum Experience

The Steel Drum Experience is a traveling course where students learn the history of the steel drum instrument and the basics of playing the steel drum in one class. We teach up to 52 people at a time in one hour, three hour, full day and multiple day courses depending on the situation.

Students learn a complete song on the drums. No musical experience of any kind is required. You will be amazed how enjoyable and easy it is to learn to play melodies and chords on the steel drum. At the end of the class, students perform a song that is recorded and available to download as a keepsake.

The steel drum instrument has such a unique sound but is enjoyed by so few because it is a relatively new instrument and there are so few of them in circulation. Our mission is to expose thousands of people to the enjoyment of learning to play the steel drum.

Rockcreek Steel Drums founder Kevin Martin has been building steel drum musical instruments since 1989.

The Steel Drum Experience is a one of a kind event.
